LBG Barcelona

Back in 1989, LBG Barcelona was one of the original founders of BEST. It's Full Member since the first general assembly: GA 1989, Berlin. 20 years later, it's still kicking! Barcelona is an active and lively city: its LBG is also full of energy! Combining the experience of the old members with the fresh inputs of the new ones, every year we successfully organise events such as academic courses, engineering competitions, job fairs, trainshops or cultural exchanges.

Since we were born in 1989, we have grown not only in amount of members, but we also have become a big group of motivated and hard working friends willing and ready to experience new challenges. Nowadays we are more than 50 active members who work as a team to make real our projects, and we are still growing every day. In an international level, BEST Barcelona is getting more and more implicated. We have internationaly involved members, and have been nurse three times (first from Valladolid (full member in 1996), then from Lyon (2004), and also from Valencia, which sadly never became full member). And also all new members are really motivated and willing to work more and more for BEST.

Regarding internal projects, LBG Barcelona has organised trainshops, regional meetings, and even applied to organise a Presidents' Meeting. All this shows how strong and willing to improve our LBG is. Lately, we are also trying to work more actively with the 3 other Spanish LBGs, with whom we have already many common projects (as National Engineering Competition, started last year, which was a big achievement).

Therefore, this year our plans have become bigger and in the next few months we will enjoy a Motivation Weekend and a Cultural Exchange with our partners from Istanbul-Yildiz besides organizing a National Engineering Competition with all the Spanish LBGs and holding a Week Engineering Competition with the students of our University. After all these events, we also have energy enough to travel to Istanbul and prepare everything for another of the already well-known Autumn Courses in Barcelona.

But for us? all those events are still not enough. We like to travel, we like to meet new and familiar faces and year after year BEST Barcelona is one of the LBGs with more applications and accepted people in the courses all the seasons!
