The V board started its term right after a massive evaluation of the organisation at the General Assembly in Warsaw in 1993. This situation gave a good ground for seeing clearly where the organisation was standing at that moment. In its work the board tried to concentrate its efforts on the most important issues which were classified as the "main goals" of the board.
Among the numerous matters that were on the table in board meetings there were two that were nd are the key processes in BEST now: forming the global strategy for BEST and making a new structure for BEST.
Something that was often discussed in various official and unofficial happening of BEST with great devotion or disappointment is the lack of motivation on the local level for international activities. This was the number one challenge for BEST. To succeed they needed to achieve many things - two of which were the key processes mentioned above.
The V board worked in a structured way and met the most important goals. however, the time needed for this proved to be much more than expected.
Some of the main achievements of the V Board were:
- Organising the work of the board
- Setting the financing strategy of BEST
- Established a new kind of continuity between boards
- Created a BEST monthly bulletin
- Started working on the relations with other organisations
